People who do not get access to these skills will increasingly find themselves unable to join the workforce and participate effectively in society…Regardless of what happens with No Child Left Behind, we need to work at the federal, state, and local levels on policies and practices to ensure that every student has access to an education focused on meaningful learning, taught by competent and caring educators who are able to attend to their needs, supported by adequate resources that provide the conditions for effective learning.”(more)
