“The ministry of education has launched the ‘Rwanda Reads’ initiative which intends to promote a culture of reading among all Rwandans, regardless of age, gender or other socioeconomic circumstances. ‘Improving the quality of education goes hand in hand with promoting the reading culture,’ said John Rutayisire, the director general of the Rwanda Education Board (REB) yesterday at the launch. He further said motivating children to read at early age makes parents insured about their future. ‘A reader today, is a leader of tomorrow,’ he remarked.” (more)
