“More people are employed in science, technology, engineering and math jobs in Florida than in tech-intensive states such as Massachusetts, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington. But Florida’s STEM employment growth has not kept pace with non-STEM job creation, according to a newly released report…In addition, employment density — or the percentage of people employed in STEM jobs compared to total employment — has declined in Florida, from 4.6 percent in 2010 to 4.2 percent in 2014, the report said. Nationally, STEM employment density is on a positive trend, increasing from 5.5 percent in 2010 to 5.8 percent in 2014.”(more)
