“Yes, you’re right — if we had better parents and parenting, we’d have a lot more success in school. This is something I hear often from teachers, as well as people in general. What can be accomplished in school when there are so many kids from homes where the parenting is so unhelpful (to put it mildly)? Yes, true. But I still believe teachers and schools can make a difference, simply because I see different schools having different degrees of success while dealing with kids from very similar backgrounds.”(more)
