“Just like the world economy, education is going global. That means more international partnerships among school systems, starting with last week’s formal deal between Taipei and the largest district in Texas. At the announcement, Houston school leaders said they want their graduates to be “global citizens.” “They must possess things like creativity, critical-thinking skills, leadership, cooperation – some of the quote-unquote soft skills that employers and colleges are saying that in today’s world they must possess,” said Andrew Houlihan, chief academic officer with the Houston Independent School District.”(more)
