“Sceptics might call it cosmetic – relatively trivial content for fairly mature students – but it is certainly a step in the right direction. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is integrating academic subjects and moral values in an apparent bid to bridge the gap between real life and lessons learnt in the classroom. Starting this academic year, value-based questions will be asked in Hindi, English, maths, science and social studies, as well as in economics, physics, chemistry, biology, accountancy and business studies for students from standard IX to XII.” (more)
