“Legislation that would require high schools to offer computer coding courses wisely recognizes the importance of computer science skills in today’s competitive workforce. But the proposal also would allow computer coding classes to replace foreign language courses. It shouldn’t be an either-or proposition. In an increasingly global economy, the Legislature should not pare down offerings for Florida students. It should present all of them with more opportunities to learn and hold them to high standards.”(more)
