Global Partnership for Education – Jean-Marc Bernard

“The new 2014/15 Results for Learning Report shows that developing country partners of the Global Partnership for Education have made good progress in getting more children in school for a quality education. According to the report, the number of children enrolled in primary education rose from 169 million to 185 million between 2008 and 2012…But despite this progress, many developing countries still face significant equity challenges in getting more children into school, particularly those children who are hardest to reach. The analyses show that reaching the 10 to 15 % of children not in school in stable countries, and ensuring that children in fragile or conflict-affected countries can access basic education, are two critical challenges ahead.”(more)
