The Washington Post – Chris Kaltenbach

“Caitlin Rose always wanted to be an illustrator, even when her career seemed determinedly pointed in a different direction. But thanks to a school that recently opened in north Baltimore, she feels she may finally be on the right track…she enrolled in the fall in the inaugural semester of the Baltimore Academy of Illustration, the brainchild of three Baltimore artists and former adjuncts at MICA looking to help those with a flair for drawing to develop those skills and even channel them into a career…The non-accredited academy’s goal is to refine what the students do, work with them on being able to illustrate ideas — theirs or a collaborator’s — with their drawings and help them become professionals.”(more)
